Recently tasked in creating a Project Office from scratch in a weak matrix organization that wants to be a Project Based Organization, this book was indispensable in providing basic descriptions of the types of activitiesthat are generally encompassed in a Project Office or Project SupportOffice.
Being a project manager, with experience and formal training, butnever having worked in an environment that used a Project Office, this bookprovided me with the valuable "shell" of what services we wouldoffer (and the glossary of terms to use to present the information toExecutive Management).I found it extremely useful.
Due to it's natureof being broad and general, I found it necessary to use addition referencematerials and personal experiences to define certain services our ProjectOffice offered.Still think it's a must for your bookshelf if you arecreating a project office at your company.
Recommended for anyone curiouswhat a Project Office is or could be.

Product Description:
As a crucial component of many medium to large organizations, project management is emerging as a highly valued discipline in its own right, as well as becoming a focus for group training and information sharing. While everyone in project management is concerned with time and resource allocation, the positive interaction of team members is also vital-as this book clearly demonstrates by drawing on the best practical examples from two of the most experienced people in the field.--This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.
