With such an enticing title and persuasive product description I thought I would be purchasing a comprehensive treatise. Instead I received something far from it. The contents consisted primarily of a printed copy of PowerPoint slides with their accompanying notes. The first half of the slides covered a very high level overview of PRINCE2 and the second half focused on ITIL. This made up the first half of the book with the last half comprising a number of document templates.

Granted, you take a chance purchasing a book online and unseen. But, up until now, my many acquisitions from Amazon have been first rate. This has been a wake-up call.

I thought there would be some coverage of real life projects and how these were managed using the PRINCE2 methodology, with hints and tips derived from years of experience and application in the "trenches". There was a tantalizing promise of best practice and an expectation of some real value. Sadly, this was not to be the case.

The price for such flimsy content turned my disappointment into an outrage. This was definitely not worth the expense, particularly after adding shipping and currency conversion. I gave it one star for the publisher's audacity to charge so much for so little. Do yourself a favor and save your money.

There are many topics that stand out as both unique [to books of this genre] and reflect best practices by the best-run PRINCE2 Project Management shops. Examples are change control, disaster recovery and vendor management. These topics show that the author not only considers business alignment, but also cross-functional alignment.
Professional resources and underlying technology are provided in detail.
This book contains an in-depth coverage of operational requirements for PRINCE2 Project Management once it has been implemented. It hits all of the critical success factors, such as performance metrics, service level agreements, communications and internal evaluations.
You will find this book to be one of the best for planning and implementing a world-class PRINCE2 Project Management program.
